Meet the Head Office Team
David Traynor
Founder & Managing Director
David joined the finance industry in 1982 and has lived & worked in many regional centres. His banking roles have been varied and includ client restructure, client management, sales, credit and management. His last full time banking role was as Chief Manager, Rural and Regional Banking, Eastern Australia with BankWest.
Since then, and prior to forming Regional Finance Solutions David has undertaken a number of contract and consultancy roles. This allows us to get a fair hearing from the people that matter. David has been a Justice of the Peace since 1988, a Fellow of Finance since 2005, gained Certificate IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking in 2013 and Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management in 2015.
David is well qualified to assist you. David has overall management of the business, with his key focus being on brining quality people into the business and ensuring that clients receive the best possible experience when dealing with RFS. David and Debbie have two adult children and three grandchildren. Relaxation for David and Debbie means exploring the region, camping, and enjoying as much time as possible with family.

Debbie Traynor
Business Manager
Debbie's role within Regional Finance Solutions is the oversight of the back office; compliance, broker support, training and development, and generally making sure that things run smoothly. Debbie arranges and manages our team events as well as many of our continuous professional development activities. Debbie lives and breathes our "There is a Better Way" motto and is always looking for ways to improve and grow the business.
Debbie also manages our client enquiry lines - phone and email.
Prior to Regional Finance Solutions Debbie has worked across many industry sectors, from hospitality to disability services and many other jobs in between and has operated her own business for 6 years. Debbie has her Cert IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking and is a JP as part of her role in Regional Finance Solutions.
Community is very important to Debbie and she has previously been on the board of Northaven and Kirinari which are both disability services and she is currently an active member of the Sapphire City Concert Band.

Melanie Gosson
Operations Manager
Melanie obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours in International Relations) and commenced her working career in politics, supporting members in both the Queensland and Australian Parliament. Having decided politics was not for her Melanie, over the last 15 years, has worked for the NSW Government, as well as working in law, accounting and financial services. Melanie joined the Regional Finance Solutions team in December 2020 as an Administration / Broker Support Manager. Melanie’s role with the team is diverse supporting our broker network, ensuring that our compliance, documentation, and general back office team is working smoothly, efficiently and effectively – and most importantly delivering great results for the team, our clients, and our business partners.
Melanie is married with a young family and enjoys all the community and social opportunities that living in a regional location has to offer.

Brian Rae
Broker Support Manager
Brian has many years of banking experience with Commonwealth Bank and Northern Inland Credit Union. Brian has extensive skills in management, administration, credit, loan processing, team coaching and development. Brian’s role is the effective support of the broker team to ensure that our clients receive great service and that we have a consistent approach to loan management. Brian holds a Bachelor of Commerce, and a Diploma in Finance & Mortgage Broking Management. Brian is a member of both the Finance Brokers Association of Australia and the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.
When not at work you would usually find Brian spending time with his family, on the golf course, or in winter you can catch him watching his beloved Newcastle Knights.

Trudy Squires
Lending Specialist
Trudy has had a diverse career and had spent 17 years working with a Credit Union, mostly in lending roles. In 2023 she lost a close friend and colleague and this made her reflect on the things that were important to her. Realising that her work passions were going above and beyond to help her clients to achieve their personal and financial goals, she wanted to find a way to broaden what she could offer. Her enthusiasm, can do attitude, and skills meant that she was always a natural fit for the broking world and our team. In early 2023 Trudy made the leap to resign from her full time role and join the broking world. She has completed her Cert IV and is excited to join the team.Outside of work you will find Trudy spending quality time with friends and family and in her downtime she enjoys everything about her veggie garden, using her home grown produce in savoury cooking and her fur baby ‘Gilly’. Trudy can break her working life into a book of 4 chapters, she has written 3 and now begins the fourth.

Gemma Houghton
Broker Support
Gemma has recently joined the Regional Finance Solutions Broker Support team from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Gemma has extensive skills in management, administration and has previous experience in broker support roles. Gemma prides herself on her commitment to detail and ensuring that she provides the best possible service for both our brokers and clients.
Gemma holds a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management.
When not at work, Gemma enjoys her time with her partner and two children.
